I’m a Midwestern girl who now lives in the beautiful state of Washington. When I lived in California I had felt like a fish out of water most of the time. Here in the Seattle area I have met a lot of people who help to make me feel a little less homesick for Michigan.  To me, this state IS Michigan with Mountains. I hope to explore more of the Pacific Northwest over the next few years and enjoy all that it has to offer.  With my wonderful husband and muse by my side, I know I’ll find HOME wherever we end up but at the moment it looks like we will be calling this area our home. Who knows? Maybe I’ll write another series set in this area, set in the past, present, or future. The possibilities are endless and I hope you all come along on this fantastic journey with me.

My Journey So Far

 After an amazing career as a veterinarian, I am now pursuing my lifelong dream of becoming a published author. On September 13, 2011, the first book in my Now and Forever series was released.  For the Love of Quinn had been my baby for two years and I thank the Goddess daily that I listened to my friends and family who encouraged me to get off my butt and send it in to a publisher. Writing erotic romances has been a fantastic experience and one I hope to continue for many more years to come.  With the release of The Island (Now and Forever 2) on November 13, 2012, and the next three books in the series in various stages of editing and polishing, my life had been completely taken over by my characters.

In order to get a little bit of a break from Quinn and the gang, I’d published two books of poetry. One followed my journey to find my happily ever after and the other is a collection of vampire inspired poetry.  Both collections of poems have inspired the characters and their various story lines in three different series and their planned spin offs. I didn’t think the characters were connected until I began to tell their tales in both prose and poetry.

If you think I’m busy, multiply that by six and you will get the full effect. I am but one of six different pen names all with projects, websites/blogs, social media of their own.  As The Vixen, I have my fingers and toes in various projects. The latest project is a “collaboration” with my alter ego Luscious Lia Michaels on another blog called Taboo II. There “we” discuss all the sinful, sassy, wicked, naughty and oh so taboo topics in the world of erotica and erotic romance. Very few topics are off-limits there and I look forward to all fun! It’s still under construction and will soon add some guests to the mix.

Let’s not forget Sassy Vixen Publishing LLC. This is now the home for all of my pen names. One day I hope to open up for submissions for other authors, but for now SVP has all it can handle with what I have in my head. With my alter egos Lia Michaels, Stephanie Ryan, Tawny Savage, Kat Seyes, and Jackson Moriarity we’ll be able to offer readers a variety of different genres and heat levels. I’m excited to see where the future takes us. At this point in time, we’re looking into offering affordable e-book and print covers. Stay tuned for more on that in the near future.

What’s In the Works?

Sassy Vixen Publishing entered a new phase in 2013, become an official LLC and my very own publishing house. Sure it’s just a little bungalow right now, but one day I hope to see it grow into a large village with many of my fellow authors and friends joining me and my alter egos creating a fabulous world of fantasy and make believe.  Our first “group” project will be the Temptations Resort shared world series. It will be a place where adults can go to experience any of their fantasies. From sweet and sensual to hot and spicy to the outright down and dirty, all will be found on the island that is Temptations Resort. This project is still in the planning stages and I don’t have a set schedule yet. The goal is to have the introductory novel up in 2016.

The Courtship of the Vampyre had been released as promised in February 2013. While writing the poems, I’d discovered even more characters demanding their voices be heard in the Kayne Legacy Series. I’ve even toyed with the idea of changing the name of the series to The Guardians of the Night, but then that would limit the scope of the series to just that group of vampires. I think the legacy of Cain/Kayne is much more than that now that his brother Malachi cropped up. He’s the seventh son of Adam and one that got the curse he so wanted to see put on Cain for causing their mother Eve such sorrow and pain. Well, Malachi, aka Black Heart, found out quickly that it’s not wise to piss off the gods…any of them, but in particular it wasn’t wise to question the ruling of The Three.

The Kayne Legacy Series: I started this one in NaNoWriMo 2013. Instead of one novel, I got two out of it so look for Curse of the First Born Cain (Kayne Legacy 1) in Season of Sun and Sin. The second book, Legacy of the First Born Michael (Kayne Legacy 2) is on its way to being released in Spring of 2016. Because of the great response, I did release Curse of the First Born Cain as a stand-alone for those who wish to keep their darker erotic thrillers separate from their erotic romance. J

On to the news about The Surrender of Julia (Now and Forever 3), My Love, My Friend (Now and Forever 4) and Forever Mine( Now and Forever 5), Thunderstruck (Now and Forever 6):

As most of you already know, Siren opted to use their right to first refusal for the rest of the Now and Forever series. While they liked the idea of Julia’s story, it wasn’t in line with how they envisioned publishing the series. I didn’t give up! This series does have a home…with SASSY VIXEN PUBLISHING! That’s right. With Julia’s story I gained full control over the series.  Now I can tell the tales as I WANT to tell them and not the way dictated to me by another publishing house. In 2016 I’ll have the rights back to the first two books and there will be massive revisions. First and foremost on the list, is to split up For the Love of Quinn into two books. That’s still a year away at the time of this writing but I couldn’t be more excited about it!

Since the stories in the next four books all take place around the same time, many of the scenes overlap and you get to see them from the different characters’ points of view.  There are two more books that may end up in this series…which is at the moment at eight books. One is the story of Katrina and Michael Hartley and the other would be a M/M erotic romance centered around one of my favorite secondary characters of the entire series. Yes, Anthony Mancuso will have his own story and his happily ever after.

A prequel to The Surrender of Julia was published as a novelette Bound in Paradise in the Sassy Vixen Publishing anthology Season of Sun and Sin. It’s received such great feedback, that I’ve decided to expand it into a larger novella. I don’t have a time frame for when that will happen yet but it’s coming!

The side stories and spin offs will make great additions as free reads here on the website and in my newsletter. You’ll want to sign up for that and follow the blog in order to keep up with all the new plans for all of my series.

Speaking of new plans…

A special SECRET PROJECT which had been known only by KIBJ is now available as a partial free read here on the blog. Karma In Blue Jeans had been planned as a stand-alone/crossover between the Now and Forever and Kayne Legacy series. It features another of the Immortal Siblings, Rhiannon. The chapters available online have received fabulous feedback. So KIBJ is the start of the Immortal Siblings series. After attending a fabulous author workshop, I was inspired to try different promotions and marketing tools to get my work out to all of you.

Now that Sassy Vixen Publishing is well underway, I’ve been able to come out of the closet so to speak and promote my work done under ALL of my pen names. So far, I’ve published as three of them. First there’s Tammy Dennings Maggy (me!), Lia Michaels and Tawny Savage. There is a fourth, Stephanie Ryan who is NOW published as of July 9, 2016. Kat Seyes will be published before the end of 2016 as well. I hope to have Jackson Moriarity’s debut out in 2017.

You can find all of them on their own websites/blogs,Twitter, Facebook and together on Tumblr. Yes it does get confusing at times, but it is what it is. This is the only way for me to write in the various genres I want to write in and not turn off fans. I mean, do I want fans of my poetry to mistakenly grab the monster erotica? If they discover Tawny on their own, that’s a good thing. I just don’t want to “trick” them into reading it.
