I’ve decided to go ahead and put together a book of my poetry following my journey to find myself, through love and loss and finding my true soul mate. In this day and age, self publishing is not hard at all. I’ve shared many of my poems with you here and with friends and family. It’s time to put them all together in one volume.
I’m so excited! I’m still working on the title. I need something that conveys the journey the poems take you through. If you have a suggestion, leave a comment below. In the meantime, I will let you know when the book is available.

I’m in the same boat as you! I would love if you would give me any advice from your own successes, as I would be willing to do the same for you. It’s always nicer t ogo through these kinds of big steps in writing together with other poets/authors!

Well, I just signed up for a free account with Smashwords. I downloaded their guide to help with how to prepare my submission. It’s free from them or from Amazon. Once I get that read and understand how to set up the poems, cover art…and title of course, I will upload it to them. Looks like that’s all I have to do. I get to set my own price. Check it out! I didn’t realize it was so straight forward. I’ll keep you posted on how things go for me, you do the same. This will be a fun adventure for both of us!

I’ve heard of Smashwords! I have a friend who has been publshed through them, and she’s had nothing but wonderful things to say about it.
I’m heading towards publishing my poetry through a more traditional channel so it will be interesting to be able to compare the two different, and equally legitimate, channels to authorship.
Good luck!

Several authors who I’ve talked to said it’s hard to get poetry published unless you are already established or you have an “in” somewhere. If you get your foot in the door that is fantastic! So far a few of my poems are featured in my novels. One in particular was the wedding vows for two of my characters in For the Love of Quinn. I went with a publisher for my erotic romances so this will be a different experience with my poetry. I’m so excited!

David,
Thank you for the link to your book! I will definitely check it out when I get a free moment. The holidays has me hopping a bit with my day job, filling orders for my crafts on etsy.com, writing, and getting ready for guests for Christmas. Whew!
Your suggestions for titles are pretty close to what I decided to go with. I wanted something to convey that the poems are a journey…basically mine, but anyone who has gone through what I have been through the last couple years will relate. The journey is one where I ultimately found my true self and in the process my soul mate through each and every life time. I am going to call my book “Follow Me…Poetry from the Heart and Soul.”
